I at first chose an OVH hosting for this blog, because I really needed to get it going quickly and so I tried picking the most default option. I also wanted the IP to not be immediately pointing to my friends.
One day, I installed the WordPress for iOS app and somehow right then from my home network I started receiving OVH error page declaring
Your IP was banned
— along with my external IP and Request ID listed. And one of the links was to contact Support, and one to a help center.

And so in the support form, after, at 2AM, filling in the hostname of my hosting, the domain name,
- the word “whole” to answer “whole or part of the site” question,
- “Installation of app: WordPress for iOS” to answer the “error occured after a certain change” question,
- Request ID and “Your IP has been BANNED” to answer the “error message” question,
- and «I WANT TO ENTIRELY OPT OUT OF THIS SORT OF “PROTECTION”» as “Additional information” —
— I received a response at 8:30AM (translated; of course it misgenders me as per my customer profile):

Of course it’s a cheap hosting and they have no interest in sustaining high traffic — such that usually brings little value to anyone. Maybe it’s good I didn’t get recommended to just throw money at it.
